About us

The Economic Board works to reinforce connections in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region from its economic strength, emphasising collaboration from the triple helix with entrepreneurs, educational institutions, and governmental authorities. In this way, we are creating the network for many organisations – from small to large – with whom you may work together for the prosperity and wellbeing of the Arnhem-Nijmegen region.

The 18 board members, CEOs and top executives of companies, knowledge institutions and governmental authorities, are our strength. They are the ‘connector’ that brings projects and networks in the region together in concrete terms. Within this network, students, mayors, top international researchers, start-ups, teachers, and CEOs meet on campuses and at technical hotspots. These meetings yield unexpected crossovers, for example, or new chain partners, a workplace with state-of-the-art research facilities or a strong lobby towards The Hague and Brussels.

In short, this is how we join forces in Lifeport around our themes: Energy, Health, and High Tech with Food as a crossover. These spearheads are the strength of the Arnhem-Nijmegen region. There are also three themes that are essential to strengthening and allowing the region’s DNA to flourish and for it to be a powerful region: Smart Sustainability, Labour Market (Human Capital) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Another of the top priorities of The Economic Board is raising the profile of the region as Lifeport; Living together healthily and sustainably, in a healthy environment – that is what Lifeport is about! We show the world how much top-notch research is done here at colleges and universities. And we offer a showcase of all the extraordinary companies and organisations working to promote healthy and sustainable living.

Project Office

The project office is the hub of the network organization. At strategic, tactical, and operational levels, the team establishes and maintains connections between knowledge institutions, businesses, and governments, laying the foundation for collaboration and alliances. We do this not only in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region but also in collaboration with other Dutch regions, Brussels, and the Ruhr area.
